Growing up in Lubbock, Bridges spent a lot of time in the kitchen with his uncle, who would later inspire him to pursue a culinary career. He has now been a professional chef for over ten years and looks forward to many years to come.

Although Bridges has only been a part of the Burklee Hill team for a short time, he has already made quite an impact. During the week, you can find him in the kitchen with a smile on his face, cooking up delicious dishes and brainstorming his next creation. A lot of passion goes into creating a new dish, and Bridges says he often turns to local farmers and vendors to draw inspiration. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients is one of the many reasons why the menu at Burklee Hill is in a league of its own and supporting local business owners is an important part of the job for Bridges. After creating a new dish, the finishing touch is perfectly pairing it with one of Burklee Hill’s expertly crafted wines to enhance the dining experience.

Bridges has already created several noteworthy dishes during his time at Burklee Hill, but his favorite so far is his Espresso Rubbed Beef Medallions, served with black garlic butter sauce, E-3 Farms mushrooms, cauliflower puree and roasted rainbow carrots, paired with the 2017 Malbec.

Bridges cooks from the heart, and it’s evident from the first bite. With a chef like him, the future looks bright for Burklee Hill Vineyards. This fall, be on the lookout for more mouth-watering dishes from Executive Chef Bobby Bridges.
